February 1, 2024 - Comal ISD’s director of elementary curriculum, Amy Malone, has been named the 2024 Region 20 TEPSAN of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA).
“I am honored to receive this recognition,” says Malone, who been an educator for 24 years, “and I am grateful to be surrounded by positive district leaders and a strong network of TEPSA Region 20 leadership, who continue to provide inspiration and are constant learners themselves.”
Malone has a passion for fostering and supporting the love of learning across Comal ISD where she currently serves as director of prekindergarten-fifth elementary curriculum. She has been in the fast-growth district for the past 10 years and has served as director of elementary education, principal at Rahe Bulverde Elementary and an assistant principal at Indian Springs Elementary.
Members from the 20 TEPSA Regions across the state annually honor a colleague for their outstanding service to the association. Award recipients must be committed to advancing the principalship and the association as well as serving as a voice for Texas students. Honorees will be recognized at the TEPSA Awards Dinner June 12 at the Round Rock Kalahari.
“Malone lends her time and expertise to support Texas PK-8 leaders and ensure student success. We are proud to recognize her dedication and work on behalf of the Association,” said TEPSA Executive Director Harley Eckhart.
The professional organization, TEPSA, whose hallmark is educational leaders learning with and from each other, has served Texas PK-8 school leaders since 1917.
