December 13, 2023 - The Comal Independent School District is excited to announce the principal for its newest middle school campus which opens in August 2024. Shane Land has been selected as the principal of Bulverde Middle School, located at 29975 Wiley Rd, Bulverde, effective January 2, 2024.
For more than four years, Land has served Comal ISD as an assistant principal at Smithson Valley High School and currently, as the academic dean at Pieper High School. He has helped create a strong, student-centered culture on both campuses, and he will do the same at Bulverde Middle School.
In his new role as principal, Land brings his dedication and experience as an educational leader who believes in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. While committed to student success and academic rigor, he also wants students to understand the importance of serving others and provide them with opportunities for personal growth.
He is excited to create traditions for the Bulverde Bobcats by collaborating with students, staff, parents and the community.
Land’s career in education spans 23 years. He has a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in agricultural economics, a master’s degree in special education from Texas State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Trinity University. He spent 10 years as a teacher and coach prior to becoming an administrator, teaching special education, math and United States history.
He and his wife, Tashi, have been married for 23 years and have three children, Reece, Jillian and Andrew.
